My training as a classical pianist includes performance degrees from the University of Southern California, The Eastman School of Music, and the University of Colorado, Boulder.   I was fortunate to work with some of the best teachers in the country including Nelita True, Robert Spillman, and James Bonn.  During my studies, I also fell in love with vocal chamber music and opera.

My career as an opera coach began in the summers with festivals in Aspen and Central City, Colorado and for ten summers in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I then made my living for sixteen years as an Assistant Conductor with the Los Angeles Opera.  While working in the field of opera, I have collaborated daily with many of the world’s finest opera singers and conductors. Recently I have taught and conducted opera at Chapman University, UCLA, and, in the summers, at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.

I have devoted my life to music making and am eager to share my enthusiasm and insights with others. I have a private studio in my home outside of Portland in West Linn where I offer both piano lessons and vocal coaching.  Lessons in my studio are generally 60 minutes, but longer sessions can be arranged.  We can work regularly or whenever you desire a session.
